District Secretary's message

Badulla will reawaken with this dawn

Badulla Ddistrict, which was self-sufficient before 1815, has failed to achieve its success in economic, social, cultural and educational aspects due to the dependency mentality of the community during the colonial period and after.
Also, the plantation community, which has been a constant contributor in large scale for the foreign exchange of Sri Lanka for decades, is still living on daily wages and with a monotonous lifestyle and at the same standard of living for decades and was tired of many socio-economic problems. Since they do not have economic, education and social empowerment, the number of educated people raised from the plantations is also very few.
This program will provide opportunities to make the development goals a reality by creating solutions for various economic, social, educational, cultural and other types of development problems existing in the district. It is expected to be carried out using community friendly modern technology, and will be continued with the cooperation of the community and the knowledge of volunteer experts.
Many people who were born, brought up and educated in Badulla District are serving the country and the world as the well known experts and professional. With the aim of developing the living standard of people of Badulla District and by gathering the educated people born from Badulla and developing the attitudes of people, I trust that Badulla will reawaken with this dawn (Arunodaya).
